Green Tea – All You Need To Know
According to legend, an ancient Chinese Emperor named Shennong discovered Tea some 5,000 years ago. In 2737 BCE, Shennong came to rest underneath an unknown tree. He fell asleep in the sun with a cup of boiling water by his side.
When he awoke, he found leaves from the tree above floating in his drink, which infused with the water. The Emperor, who was an avid herbalist, decided to try the unfamiliar beverage. To his surprise, he adored it! Without knowing it at the time, he had just discovered Tea.
Green Tea comes from the same plant as any other Tea: the Camellia sinensis (Tea) plant. The change in Tea type comes about from the processing of the leaf. After harvesting, workers pan-fire or steam the leaves to halt oxidation. Once the leaves have cooled, the workers then roll and dry them.
With this particular Green Tea, however, there is another stage in the process: scenting. Workers layer rose petals over the leaves, which eventually boasts a floral sweetness when brewed. We ensure the quality of the Tea by packing everything fresh to order.

Health Benefits of Drinking this Green Tea
Flavonoids found in Green Tea can improve endothelial function and flow-mediated dilation (FMD). This is because it improves bioactivity of the endothelium-derived vasodilator, (“vasodilation” refers to the widening of blood vessels) nitric oxide, by enhancing its synthesis, according to a study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. This is one of many ways that this beverage can improve cardiovascular health.
