Today, countless Scientific Studies have been able to prove much of these century-old practices, with our very own Turmeric Herbal Tea Blend showcasing everything that is extraordinary about this ancient wonder! Turmeric tea has become increasingly popular over the course of the last decade, and is now very much a favourite when infused as a delicious herbal tea! So, why not find out what all the fuss is about – see what our Turmeric Herbal Tea can do for your health, and your taste buds!
Turmeric is a member of the ginger family, specifically from the Curcuma longa plant. Native to Southeast Asia, including the Indian Sub-Continent, its sharp, earthy and bitter taste shares a long and expansive history with food, medicine and, of course, tea.
Turmeric would arguably rise to fame through its use in one of the oldest forms of holistic medicine, called Ayurveda, which partly involved cleansing the body from undigested food. As relevant now, as it was over a thousand years ago, this treasured ingredient was used by Ayurvedic practitioners to support the blood, liver, joints, immune system and digestive tract. In fact, in India alone, an estimated 80% of rural populations spanning across the country still remain unwaveringly loyal to these practices.
When incorporated into tea, turmeric retains all of its incredible health promoting properties and, in some cases, will even be enhanced from the infusion! Turmeric is known to increase the Antioxidant capacity within the body, and therefore enables the tisane to provide as much of its healthy potential as possible!
In fact, according to MedIndia, turmeric is: “five to eight times stronger than vitamin E and stronger than vitamin C. This Antioxidant breakthrough may help boost your immunity, maintain normal cholesterol levels, and puts the brakes on aging.” What more could you possibly want from your morning cup of herbal tea?
