Organic Green Tea is a type of Chinese Tea produced with bio-cultivation methods. It has the same great taste and benefits as “regular” Sencha – but with a clear conscience. When brewed, expect smooth grassy flavours and a refreshing finish.
Expect, too, only the finest quality and consistency because we pack it fresh to order. What more could you want from your morning cuppa?
What is Organic Green Tea?
The term “organic,” in the context of Tea production, refers to cultivation taking place without synthetic fertilisers, herbicides and pesticides. This ensures not only the welfare of the Tea but those working in the industry. Perhaps most important, however, is the fact that such methods protect our planet. In other words, you can support mother nature by choosing Organic Green Tea leaves.
Receiving organic certification occurs initially in the producing country through an official regulatory body. The Tea then enters the European Union (the same as it did before 2021) where it is checked and certified again. EU regulations on organic products are considerably robust and uniform across the continent. Should a Loose Tea fail inspection, it is re-sealed and returned to the country of origin.
Each Organic Tea stocked here at The Kent and Sussex Tea and Coffee Company has, of course, passed inspection. This includes this Green Tea, which is one of our most popular. Its journey begins in the Tea Fields of China and ends in your favourite cup or mug. But now the question begs: Does Organic Green Tea have caffeine – and if so, how much?

How to Make Organic Green Tea
1, Put Tea leaves into a Tea Infuser or Filter (both available here).
2, Place the Tea-filled accessory in a mug or cup.
3, Boil fresh water and allow it to cool to temperatures between 80 and 90°C.
4, Infuse for 1 to 3 minutes. Any longer and you risk creating a bitter taste.
How to Serve: Best served without additions. However, some choose to add honey or lemon.
Tasting Notes: This infusion has a light, refreshingly grassy flavour.
Caffeine: A stimulating chemical compound that exists in around sixty plants. The Camellia sinensis (Tea) plant indeed belongs to this family, meaning you can expect caffeine in any so-called “real” Tea. However, there is a difference in levels in each type due to the processing of the leaf. Organic Green Tea, in particular, has an estimated 30-mg per 8-oz cup.
Organic Green Tea Benefits
What is Organic Green Tea good for? The simple answer is “quite a lot.” Its antioxidants, for starters, combat free radicals in the body, the product of natural, though often harmful, human oxidation.
This means that your beverage works on a molecular level to reduce the risk of developing several chronic conditions from heart disease to type-2 diabetes. And that’s just the beginning.
Organic Green Tea for Weight Loss
Can Organic Green Tea help you lose weight, too? Yes – and in more than one way. The average serving has no more than two calories, making it an excellent alternative to sugary, fatty soft drinks.
What’s more, and perhaps more crucial, it boosts the metabolism of fat cells, thereby enabling the body to burn fat quicker and more efficiently. Such are the Green Tea Benefits.
