The Korakundah Tea Estate the highest situated commercial tea estate in the world, sitting at 8000Ft above sea level and is awaiting accreditation from the Guinness Book of Records. Based high up in the Nilgiri Hills also known as the Blue Mountains, not to be confused with the Blue Mountain in Jamaica!
Type of Tea – Orthodox Indian Black Tea.
Origin – Korakundah Estate, Nilgiri Hills of Tamil Nadu, South India.
Altitude – 8000 Feet above sea leve.
Leaf Grade – Flowery Pekoe.
Harvest – Mid Season.
Brewing Guide – Use boiling water (100 degrees) infuse for 3-5 minutes.
How to Serve – Serve best with milk or honey and lemon.
Tasting Notes – Bright and distinctive flavours and a fresh floral scent.
Colour in Cup – Fine copper coloured liquor.

History– Sir Robert Stanes, was the founder of UNTE (United Nilgiri Tea Estates), which has facilitated a pension Scheme for workers, a community hall, Hepatits B Vaccine, Schools and a School Bus, High schools, Typhoid Vaccine, and computer education. UNTE was one of the first Fairtrade Producers in India.
