What is Milk Caramel Oolong Tea?
A common misconception is that Caramel Oolong Tea is heated in milk water steam to create it. The reality is that it derives from a specific cultivar of the Camellia sinensis (Tea) plant first developed in Taiwan during the 1980s.
Known as Jin Xuan, workers harvest the leaves before lightly baking them. This creates the flavour so loved. Worry not, in other words, if you’re lactose intolerant.
The story of Loose Leaf Oolong Tea from Taiwan as a whole dates back to the 19th century when the island was called Formosa. In 1866, the British trader and entrepreneur John Dodd helped elevate the Formosa Tea industry on the world market.
The country hasn’t looked back since. All that’s left is to show you how to make Milk Caramel Oolong Tea at its finest and most delicious.
