Java Green Tea ‘PS’ Sunda Purwa
Despite the fact that Java and Sumatra are well known for their production of black teas, our Java Green Tea Pekoe Souchong “ Sunda Purwa”, is an excellent, deeep, green tea. Grown on the Ciwidey Esate, Bandung which has a tropical highland, rainforest, monsoon climate due to the high elevation. The humidity makes for perfect growing conditions.

Origin– Ciwidey Estate, Bandung, West Java.
Altitude– 700 meters above sea level.
Leaf Grade– Pekoe.
Brewing Guide– Best brewed for 2-3 mins with water 75-80 degrees.
How to Serve– Best served as it is or with a slice or honey or lemon.
Tasting Notes- A full-bodied with strong grassy notes which still holds a lot of body and flavour once infused more than once. This is a hearty green tea with has an enjoyable flavour.

History- The Dutch East Indies Company established tea plantations in the mid- 18th century and grew mainly black tea, using seeds the seeds of Chinese tea bushes. However, they did not flourish and Assamese plants were brought over to take their place. The production of commercial green tea on the island has only been introduced since the 1980s and previously has been mainly consumed locally.
