Our Sencha Kakagawa is a classic steamed green tea manufactured in China to Japanese specifications. Since the Fukushima incident some traditional Japanese tea farmers have established tea estates in China’s Zhejiang province which are operated to the strict methods and practices found in Japan. Traditionally the leaves are left in the cup and more water added until the flavour has gone. When drunk the leaf pattern at the bottom of the cup was often used to foretell ones fortune.
