What is an Italian Coffee?
Italian Coffee culture is world-famous. It is indeed difficult to imagine the country without conjuring images of thriving streetside bistros populated by Coffee-sipping patrons.
However, there is a little more to our Italian Roast Coffee than that. This is a Dark Roasted Coffee known for lacking the acidity of its lighter-roasted counterparts. While initially popularised in Italy, it is now loved everywhere.
Where Does Italian Coffee Come From?
A common misconception is that Italian Coffee Beans come from Italy. Yet the name refers not to its origin; rather to the style of its dark-roasting.
The Coffee itself, in fact, comes from countries in Asia. What makes it quintessentially “Italian,” then, is the way in which we process the beans. Such is the case with our “quintessential” French Roast, too, which we also stock.
Is There Caffeine in Italian Coffee?
You might be wondering, “Is there caffeine in Italian Coffee?” The answer is a resounding yes. Contrary to popular belief, roasting Coffee beans has little influence on the caffeine content.
This particular brew, as a result, has around 100-mg per 8-oz cup. If you need an extra boost first thing in the morning, you’ve undoubtedly chosen exceptionally well here.
