Popular Green Tea Selection
- China Sencha: This is our “house” Sencha Green Tea, as well as our house Green Tea overall. It comes from the Chinese Anhui province, providing a distinctly soft, mild, sweet flavour when brewed. Like most types of Green Tea, it also has a delectable grassiness.
- Gunpowder Pinhead: This beverage comes from the Zhejiang province of China. To make it, producers wither, steam then roll the leaves. The name “Pinhead” refers to the shape of the leaf after production. Its taste, meanwhile, is grassy and sweet.
- Japanese Bancha: A low-caffeine infusion noted for its delicate taste, Japanese Bancha is perfect for Green Tea beginners. As its name suggests, it comes from Japan. Many choose to drink it straight after a meal, although it makes for an excellent choice no matter the time of day.
- Jasmine Hung Shang Ya: When it comes to scented Green Teas, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better brew than Jasmine Hung Shang Ya. It originates from the Huangshan Mountains of Anhui province, China, its taste unmistakably floral and alluring.
- Japanese Sencha Genmai Cha: Known to many as “Popcorn Tea”, our Japanese Sencha Genmai Cha is one of the most extraordinary infusions we stock. It consists of Bancha Green Tea and toasted brown rice, blended with higher-quality Sencha. It has a distinctly nutty flavour.
Rare Green Tea Selection
- Japanese Gyokuro Asahi: This is a very rare Tea indeed. It consists of the topmost, tenderest leaves which are traditionally brewed at special occasions. Elegant and refreshing from start to finish, Japanese Gyokuro Asahi is a connoisseur’s dream beverage.
- Java Green Tea ‘PS’ Sunda Purwa: Our delicious, invigorating Java Green Tea ‘PS’ Sunda Purwa is unlike any other. Grown on the Ciwidey Estate near Bandung, this extraordinarily indulgent cuppa is consistently full-bodied and grassy with every sip.
- Korean FOP Woojeon: Some call Korean FOP Woojeon “sparrow’s tongue”, referring to its small, sharp, pointed leaves which, when brewed, boast a bright-green liquor. It comes from Jeju Island, South Korean, its flavour best described as buttery and brilliant.
- Vietnam Flowery Orange Pekoe: Originating from the idyllic Tua Chua region, Vietnam Flowery Orange Pekoe is the product of near-perfect growing conditions. Cultivation, for example, takes place some 1,500 metres above sea level. This creates a fresh, grassy taste.
- Pi Luo Chun: Translated, “Pi Luo Chun” means “Spring Green Snail”. This peculiar term refers to a centuries-old story involving Emperor Kang Xi, who believed that the leaves resembled tiny green snails. When brewed, they provide a delicate aroma and a distinctly buttery character.
