GABA stands for “Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid”, which is the result of the unique manufacturing process this Oolong Tea goes through. The concept refers to the oxidation of tea, whereby a high-nitrogen, oxygen-free environment is used instead of oxygen during oxidation. It is becoming increasingly popular, particularly owing to its unique health benefits.
High levels of GABA are known to be extremely beneficial to the human nervous system. Furthermore, like any Oolong Tea, GABA Oolong Tea can improve cardiovascular health, aid with digestion, and boost the metabolism, helping your body to burn fat quicker and more efficiently. And then, of course, there’s the taste. GABA Oolong Tea has a deep, rich flavour with fruity undertones.
It is a choice made by many, and as a result, is one of our most popular Oolong Teas. Whether or not you’re health conscious when it comes to selecting the perfect brew, GABA Oolong Tea is a great place to start. It is a fantastic introduction to the world of Oolong Teas as well as the world of tea consumption for health-related reasons. Basically, GABA Oolong Tea has everything you want and need in your morning cup and so much more. Start your day off the right way.
But let’s now delve deeper into the world of Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid and what significance it has in the Tea Industry. The process was introduced in Japan in the 1980’s when Dr Tsushida Tojiro discovered that anaerobic conditions (an environment characterised by the lack of free oxygen, one that may contain atomic oxygen bound in compounds such as nitrate (NO3), nitrite (NO”), and sulfites (SO3)) encourage the conversion of glutamate to GABA. Today, Japan sells many GABA-enriched foods and beverages like rice, soy milk and cookies, the most famous being GABA-enriched tea, however. But what’s the big deal about it?
Gamma-aminobutyric acid is the inhibitory neurotransmitter of the central nervous system. It has the ability to balance our mood and our emotions. The bottom line is that a GABA-enriched tea such as our GABA Oolong Tea can, ultimately, help us to feel just a little bit better in ourselves. And that is why the world is going crazy for GABA Teas, but unlike some companies, The Kent and Sussex Tea and Coffee Company believe that quality is equally important.
