Why Drink Elderflower Tea?
Elderflowers (Sambucus) are a component of a genus of flowering plants belonging to the Adoxaceae family. The trees from where they derive grow across central Europe and North America – as well as, indeed, in the countryside surrounding our Pluckley-based company.
We use the Sambucus nigra variety, in particular, in the making of our Elderflower Herbal Tea. But why choose it?
What Does Elderflower Tea Taste Like?
Perhaps the primary reason that so many people buy Elderflower Tea is the fact that, put simply, it tastes exquisite. When brewed, its aroma is unmistakably sweet and floral – traits of which transcend upon the first sip.
An earthy finish ensures a complex yet delightful infusion that you’ll likely be making again in no time at all. And you can do just that when you order it online or in-store from us!
How Much Caffeine in Elderflower Tea?
However, you might well be wondering whether it’ll help you get out of bed in the morning. All types of “real” Tea (Black, Green, White and Oolong) contain caffeine, a stimulating chemical compound that famously provides an energy boost.
Our Elderflower Tea isn’t “Tea” in the conventional sense, though, and as such is 100% void of caffeine. This is good news for some.
How to Make Elderflower Tea
1, Add Loose Leaf Tea to a Tea Infuser or Filter.
2, Place the Tea-filled accessory in a cup or mug.
3, Put the kettle on and, once boiled, pour it over the leaves.
4, Allow it to steep for 5-10 minutes.
How to Serve: Consider adding lemon for a bittersweet balance or even Peppermint Tea for extra flavour. Alternatively, serve it without additions to fully appreciate its natural character.
