Cretan Blend Tea is a hand-picked herbal creation from the mountains of Crete. Its wildness, its beauty, is unlike any other Tea we stock.
The blend includes Organic Cretan Dittany (Origanum dictamnus), Organic Mountain Tea (Sideritis Syriaca), Lemon Verbena Leaves, Rose Petals, Vana Holy Basil Leaves and, uniquely, Helichrysum microphyllum. The result is, put simply, exquisite.
When brewed, Cretan Blend Tea offers a lovely fresh taste with citrusy overtones. It is also a remarkably health beneficial beverage perhaps most famous for lowering blood pressure.
Those looking to cut down their caffeine intake, meanwhile, have chosen well here. This delightful infusion is indeed 100% caffeine-free. Best of all, we pack it fresh to order here at our Kent-based factory.
About Cretan Blend Tea Blend
There are many noteworthy components in Cretan Blend Tea. None more so, however, than Organic Cretan Dittany and Organic Mountain Tea. These we get from Gianni, a Cretan herbalist living in the white mountains and a friend of our owner, Mr Richard Smith.
Gianni’s humble shop – with its captivating views outside and finest quality ingredients inside – is where this blend begins.
Then there are its Lemon Verbena leaves, which come from an aromatic, perennial shrub native to South America. Its nickname is “Lemon Beebrush,” referring to its immense popularity with bees.
Humans, too, have found many Lemon Verbena uses – including, of course, brewing it up as a delicious Herbal Tea. The leaves exude a distinct lemony aroma – which transcends in taste.
Rose Petals, meanwhile, are the product of a plant we all know and love. Their flowers provide alluring fragrances and, naturally so, floral flavours. Vana Holy Basil is less common in Tea but equally delicious.
Finally, Helichrysum microphyllum (also recognised as “Dwarf Curry plant”) adds something a little different to your morning cuppa. Combined, they are a match made in heaven.

Health Benefits if Cretan Tea
A 2012 animal-based study published in The Journal of Physiology and Pharmacology suggests that Cretan Blend Tea can lower blood pressure.
Researchers measured arterial blood pressure and found that doses of Sideritis extract led to blood vessel dilation. This, in turn, helped to lower blood pressure levels and reduce stress on the heart.
