The Ceylon Estate of Kenmare is in the highest tea growing district of Nuwara Eliya near Ceylon’s largest mountain “Piduruthalagala”. A fine Tea Garden indeed! being the winner of the best tea garden of Sri Lanka in 2002. Historically the early tea planters of the 19th Century came from Britain and Ireland and many teas estates both in Ceylon and elsewhere were named after hometowns and places. The pioneering tea planters of this estate came from the town of Kenmare in County Kerry in Ireland. The estate concentrates on the production of high end top quality teas. This FBOP is a great example with a well manufactured leaf and full of flavour.
