Ceylon Orange Pekoe Dimbula is a Loose Leaf Tea from the island nation of Sri Lanka. Specifically, it comes from the Dimbula district of Central Province.
The grade is Orange Pekoe (OP), which is somewhat stronger than a Flowery Orange Pekoe (FOP). Its leaves are larger, too, with workers harvesting them once the buds have fully unfurled. When brewed, it produces earthy, woody notes.
If caffeine is important to you, then you can expect around 45-mg per 8-oz cup. This is more than enough to get you out of bed in the morning.
Perhaps even better, according to the latest scientific research, it comes with Black Tea benefits. Studies indeed suggest that it boosts immunity, aids digestion and reduces the risk of developing type-2 diabetes. We pack it fresh to order.

About the Dimbula District
The Dimbula Region lies between two high plateaus at elevations between 1,100 and 1,600 metres (3,500-5,000ft) above sea level.
The landscape is rich and bountiful; elephants wander by the thousands, deer and sambhur by the tens of thousands, and eagles soar high above the dense forests and plains. When it comes to its Tea production, Dimbula has an outstanding reputation.
It was one of the first areas to start making Ceylon Tea in the 19th century. To this day, most residents here play some sort of a role in the industry.
The complex topography and the unique microclimates, meanwhile, have a significant impact on the profile and character of the leaves. Such is the case with our Ceylon Orange Pekoe Dimbula, which goes above and beyond to impress.

Benefits of Ceylon Orange Pekoe Dimbula Tea
Habitual Tea drinking (at least three times a week) could support a longer, healthier life. This is according to a study published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology, which saw 100,902 participants split into two groups.
The first group comprised volunteers who drank three or more cups of Tea a week. The second group included those who drank less than three brews a week.
Both sets of volunteers were followed-up for a median of 7.3 years. The results ultimately establish that 50-year-old habitual Tea drinkers had a 20% lower risk of developing coronary heart disease.
Additionally, scientists noted that these same brew lovers could live up to 1.26 years longer than someone who never or rarely drank Tea. Pretty neat for your morning cuppa, wouldn’t you agree?
