About The Kiruwanaganga Tea Estate
This garden stretches over ten divisions and comprises over 450 hectares. It lies in the Deniyaya region of the Matara District at an elevation between 300 and 700 metres. The climatic conditions found here contribute significantly to the bold taste of this infusion.
It specialises in mid-season harvests, which is yet another noteworthy element this Ceylon Loose Leaf Tea.
What Does “Orange Pekoe” Mean?
The term “Orange Pekoe” refers to a Tea grade containing leaves larger than an FOP (Flowery Orange Pekoe). It has a close association with Ceylon Tea, in particular, which is harvested when the buds have opened into leaves – and seldom contain tip.
