Ingredients in the Best Blackcurrant Leaf Tea
Blackcurrant leaves come from the woody shrub of the same name, which belongs to the Grossulariaceae family. Most famous for its berries, the plant grows in temperate regions of central and northern Europe, as well as parts of Asia.
It prefers damp, fertile soils, often near woodland, and can reach heights of up to 1.5 metres. All of its components are aromatic, including the leaves used in our Flavoured Tea.
Blackcurrant Tea Caffeine Content
An estimated sixty plants naturally contain caffeine, a stimulant known and loved around the world. The blackcurrant plant (Ribes nigrum) does not belong to the family and, as a result, is 100% caffeine-free.
Tea from the Camellia sinensis plant, on the other hand, is indeed caffeinated. This means that Blackcurrant Tea has about 45-mg of the chemical compound per 8-oz cup.
How to Make Blackcurrant Tea

Benefits of Blackcurrant Tea
This black tea contains an abundance of vitamins, minerals and other antioxidants. Among them are Vitamins A, B1, B5, B6 and C, calcium, copper, iron and phosphorus.
Combined, these remarkable constituents neutralise free radicals in the body, the product of natural, though harmful, human oxidation. The result is a reduced risk of developing a multitude of chronic conditions.
Blackcurrant Tea for Weight Loss
Black Tea, not least the one you’ve chosen here, can boost the metabolism of fat cells, enabling the body to burn fat quicker and more efficiently. What’s more, according to a recent study, three cups daily for three months can increase weight loss and reduce waist circumference.
Scientists believe that it has such a capacity due to its flavonoids, a variety of plant pigment with potent antioxidant properties.
