What to Expect from Bitter Almond Tea
Almonds derive from a tree species native to Iran and other Middle-Eastern countries. The edible component is the drupe, which comprises an outer hull and a hard shell with a seed.
As a result, it isn’t technically a nut in the conventional sense, although it has been treated as such for centuries. Combine it with the finest and most delicious Black Tea, and you have a match made in heaven.
Meanwhile, the Tea leaves themselves date back millennia. According to legend, a Chinese emperor named Shennong discovered them in 2737 BCE – over 5,000 years ago. This was, in fact, Green Tea.
Black Tea didn’t appear on the scene until the Chinese Qing Dynasty (1644-1912 CE), the first variety of which was Lapsang Souchong. But it’s time now to show you how to make bitter Almond Tea.
