Ayurveda Wellness Tea is a type of Herbal Tea with, as its name suggests, wellness in mind. It also adheres to the holistic practice of Ayurveda, which originated from the Indian subcontinent around 6,000 years ago.
Wellness in this infusion finds itself in many places. It tastes great, for starters, with a distinct spiciness brought out by a blend of Ginger, Cardamom and whole Chillies.
According to Ayurvedic practices, these ingredients can also support the three “doshas” in the body – VATA, PITTA and KAPHA. If, however, you’re more scientifically-minded, it’s worth noting that this Tea can aid digestion, boost the immune system and even promote weight loss.
We pack it fresh all loose leaf tea orders here at our Kent-based factory, ensuring quality and consistency with every cuppa.
Ingredients in Ayurveda Wellness Tea
Ginger (Zingiber officinale) is a member of the Zingiberaceae family. The stem of the plant can reach heights of up to 1 metre, while its lanceolate leaves grow up to 30 centimetres long. When it comes to Ginger Tea, though, the most critical component is nestled underground.
This is the rhizome, which most people will know as the ginger root. Upon brewing as a standalone herb, it offers a spicy, zingy flavour.
Cardamom, meanwhile, is a spice from the seeds of several plants in the Elettaria and Amomum genera. It, too, belongs to the ginger family, and it has been a staple of Indian diets for thousands of years.
Historians believe it to be one of the world’s oldest known spices, one that remains as popular today as it was thousands of years ago. Expect a bold, sweet flavour from this particular ingredient.
Finally, chillies are the fruits of plants from the Capsicum genus, which in turn belongs to the Solanaceae family. Most will be familiar with their “hot” flavour, which has divided people for millennia. When included in our Ayurveda Wellness Tea, however, they make for the perfect finishing touch.
