Tonganagaon GBOP Organic Tea is an Assam Loose Tea from India produced using controlled bio-cultivation methods. It’s free of synthetic fertilisers, herbicides and pesticides, which ultimately sustains the health of soils and ecosystems while maintaining the wellbeing of workers.
If you’re looking to support the environment, this infusion is a great start. What’s more, we pack it fresh to order.
This delectable beverage also comes with Black Tea benefits. According to research, Tonganagaon GBOP Organic, like all types of Black Tea, can enhance brain function while improving cardiovascular health. It might also reduce the risk of developing type-2 diabetes.
Tonganagaon Tea Estate
Established in 1927, Tonganagaon finds itself in the far east of the Assam region. It has belonged to the Chamong group of the Lohia family since 2008, six generations of whom have worked in the Tea industry.
This garden boasts 538 hectares of Tea-growing land, much of which is used for organic farming. A new and modern factory has also been built to cater to the needs of international buyers.
In recent years, the current owners of Tonganagaon have vastly improved the local infrastructure. This includes modernising houses, providing gas for cooking, enlarging the hospital and building new schools and streets.
Workers are well looked after, who in turn strive to create extraordinary Tea. Our Tonganagaon GBOP Organic is, of course, no exception, going above and beyond to impress.
What does “GBOP” Mean?
The term “GBOP” stands for “Golden Broken Orange Pekoe”, a Tea grade with many remarkable qualities. “BOP”, in particular, refers to the leaves being broken into small pieces.
This often boasts a stronger character in cup than that of an FOP (Flowery Orange Pekoe) Tea. We recommend choosing a BOP if you like your Tea flavoursome. Tonganagaon GBOP Organic Tea is a perfect example.
