Assam Tea Mangalam FTGFOP1 (Special) is very special indeed. It is a type of Indian Tea from the Mangalam Tea Estate – a garden long known for its outstanding reputation.
Such exemplariness transcends in your cup when you brew this Loose Leaf Tea. Expect traditional malty overtones and subtle spicy undertones, a true delight to the senses from start to finish.
It’s worth noting, too, that our Assam Mangalam Tea comes with a considerable amount of caffeine (approx. 45-mg per 8-oz cup). What’s more, and perhaps more important, scientists believe that it provides Black Tea benefits such as improved heart health and reduced diabetes risks.
We pack it fresh to order here at our Kent-based factory, ensuring quality and consistency.
Where Does Assam Mangalam Come From?
Assam Mangalam FTGFOP1 (a Tea grade standing for “Fine Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe”) is the product of Assam State, Northern India. This region finds itself nestled between the Himalayas, the Brahmaputra plains and the Deccan plateau, making it one of the richest biodiversity zones in the world.
It boasts heavy rainfall (2,500-3,000mm annually) and rich, fertile soil well-suited to Tea-growing.
Around 312,210 hectares of land is used for such purposes. Estimates suggest that Assam accounts for about 13% of global Tea production, with 570 million kilos exported each year.
Some of this, of course, is Mangalam Assam Tea – a beverage that ranks high on the list of favourites among casual drinkers and connoisseurs alike. But what do you need to know about the estate itself?
Mangalam Estate in Assam
This garden – spread across 118-hectares – is in the Sibsagar district. It is a relatively “new” estate compared to others, having been established in 1973. What it lacks in age, however, it makes up for in quality.
It follows the concept of a dense planting with selected Camellia sinensis var assamica hybrids, which produces exceptionally good CTC and orthodox Tea.

Health Benefit of Assam Mangalam Tea
We’ve mentioned briefly that Assam Tea Mangalam FTGFOP1 Special can improve life in small yet significant ways.
When it comes to its ability to improve heart health, it does so by combating free radicals in the body. This slows down the natural, though harmful, process of oxidation.
In other words, it keeps your ticker in check on a molecular level. The same applies to its combating diabetes.
