It is hard to imagine a tea more nurtured than our very own Jasmine Pyramid Tea Bags, for not only does this blend undergo the most delicate of processing methods, but it is also captured within a state-of-the-art tea bag known for producing some of the finest of flavours.
Pyramid tea bags are a relatively new invention from 1997, and while they are awaiting their time in the limelight, it has been proven that they can offer a far more efficient infusion when making a brew. In fact, a recent study has since shown that the infusion of tea was far greater and more effective when using a pyramid tea bag.
How Jasmine Tea is Made
So, aside from how it is packaged, what makes our Jasmine Tea so special? Well, like almost any other Jasmine tea, our produce is created using an intricate processing method which sees the buds of the Jasmine flower hand-plucked in early afternoon, when the sun is out and the dew has evaporated.
This is followed by all the buds subsequently stored within a dry place until evening, when the blossoms open into the cool night air, releasing their irresistible aroma. Soon after, the flowers are placed into basket trays and layered over tea leaves during what is known as ‘the scenting process’.
Here, the tea is left for hours to absorb the beautiful fragrance and distinctive flavour of the fragile Jasmine blossoms.
History of Jasmine Loose Tea
This process began during the South-Song Dynasty in China, but was further developed during the Ming Dynasty. The rise in its popularity may have originated from the Ming obsession for anything floral.
From porcelain to paints, embroidery to décor; the Royal Courts of this period were filled with flowery images, with Jasmine Loose Tea quickly becoming a delicacy. By the 19th Century, Jasmine tea became one of the first flavoured blends to be exported out of China on trade ships headed to the Western Hemisphere.
Soon, the world would come to understand why this incredible beverage was so popular, with Jasmine Leaf Tea is now considered one of the most sought-after flavoured blends currently available on the market.
