Zhejiang Tea

Eastern China is home to the beautiful province of Anhui. This province is an inland area and is crossed by the famous Yangtze River which flows through its heart. To the north of the river are extensive flat lands while to the south stand the towering Huangshan Mountains, some peaks of which rise over 5,900 feet high. Anhui has a long tradition in growing tea, with green tea being cultivated for many years and black tea since the 1800s.

Tea Types from Zhejiang in China

Their main tea produced includes high quality vintages made by traditional methods, the towns are renowned for their hand crafted production such as Dragon Well Tea (Longjing Tea) and Gunpowder Tea.

Differentiating qualities of these two Teas are due to the diverse plains of the province, with some Teas being grown in the mountains for a higher quality and others being grown on the flats, where the industrial Teas are grown.
